FIRST robotics has an important legacy of gracious professionalism to uphold. This tradition is an asset for all of us, yet brings with it tremendous responsibility. Honesty, respect and integrity are not optional behaviors. They are the values core to FIRST robotics operation. They help us create an environment that supports the efforts of all team members and demands appropriate conduct. Behaving appropriately is not always convenient, but it is essential to sustaining a culture of integrity, and our role as leaders in our schools and communities.
Operating our team with integrity should reflect in all that we do. It means honest and accurate reporting of performance, it means competing and succeeding by the rules, and assuring our actions match our words.
In the end, the success of the Gearheads hinges on personal responsibility and requires the commitment of every member of the Gearhead team. Everyone must do their part to assure Grosse Pointe Gearheads are truly gracious professionals.
